Chumba Casino No Purchase Bonus: 2 Sweeps Coins, Three State Tiers and VGW’s Legal Year

Chumba Casino's no purchase bonus is 2,000,000 Gold Coins plus 2 Sweeps Coins. The Gold Coins are play money; the 2 Sweeps Coins, worth $2 at redemption, are the only part that can become a prize, after a 1x playthrough and once your balance reaches about 10 SC for a gift card or 100 SC for cash. Chumba is 21+, Gold-Coin-only in eight states, and its owner VGW is defending a Florida lawsuit after settling with New York.

Published October 30, 2026 — offer, state tiers and redemption terms as last read from Chumba's terms on September 13, 2026 (the site geo-blocks our location, including on October 30); legal and corporate facts from the dated reports named below. We did not open an account.

The welcome: a big headline, a small redeemable part

Chumba leads with the largest Gold Coin number in our comparison and one of the smallest Sweeps Coin grants. Two million Gold Coins buy a lot of entertainment play and nothing else. The 2 Sweeps Coins are the prize-eligible part, the same as RealPrize and Crown Coins, and a fraction of Stake.us's 25. Daily login bonuses add Sweeps Coins over time, and the sweepstakes rules provide a mail-in route (terms as read September 13, 2026).

What can 2 SC do on its own? In any game that does not favour the player, the chance of turning a balance into a target before losing it is at most the balance divided by the target. From 2 SC that is at most 20% to reach the roughly 10 SC gift-card floor and at most 2% to reach the 100 SC cash minimum. The welcome is a starting stake; a redemption realistically comes from accumulating daily coins at one brand.

Redemption

Playthrough is 1x. Cash needs 100 Sweeps Coins and is paid by bank transfer or Skrill; gift cards unlock from about 10 SC through Prizeout, with retailers such as Amazon and Walmart (terms as read September 13, 2026). VGW verifies identity before the first redemption, so complete it early. Chumba's terms did not state a processing time we could quote. The cross-brand comparison is in our redemption minimums table.

Where Chumba works: three tiers

Gold-Coin-onlyCalifornia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, West VirginiaRegister and play with Gold Coins; no Sweeps Coin play, no prizes

The Gold-Coin-only tier is the trap: the site looks the same, but nothing won there is redeemable, and Gold Coin purchases there are pure entertainment spend. Oklahoma's SB 1589 takes effect November 1, 2026; we found no VGW Oklahoma notice in public reporting by October 30, but compliant Sweeps Coin play there has to stop from that date. State-by-state law is in our ban tracker.

The New York settlement

On September 9, 2026, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that VGW would pay $8 million to resolve claims that Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand Slots operated as illegal online casinos in the state, by the Attorney General's account from 2012 until VGW left New York in June 2025 after a cease-and-desist demand. VGW did not admit the allegations. The settlement requires VGW to contact New York players who left Sweeps Coins unredeemed and give them a year to redeem. If you played from New York before mid-2025, watch the email address you registered with. New York has since banned the model outright under S5935A, signed December 5, 2025.

The Florida lawsuit and other actions

On August 19, 2026, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier sued VGW, covering Chumba, LuckyLand and Global Poker, together with payment processors Yodlee, Trustly and Worldpay, in Hillsborough County Circuit Court. The complaint alleges illegal gambling and deceptive trade practices and seeks a permanent injunction barring VGW from Florida, plus restitution and civil penalties (News4Jax, August 19, 2026; SBC Americas, August 20, 2026). The complaint also alleges VGW took in more than $5 billion of revenue in 2025, $3.7 billion of it from Chumba (as reported by Gambling.com, August 2026); these are the state's allegations. Florida has no ban statute, so this case is the main legal risk for Florida players; it was pending on October 30, 2026. Lines.com's state list (October 26, 2026) also records a Kentucky Attorney General lawsuit against VGW and an April 2025 Delaware order.

Who runs Chumba

VGW (Virtual Gaming Worlds), based in Perth, built the sweepstakes casino model. Minority shareholders approved founder Laurence Escalante's buyout, taking the company private at A$5.05 a share, on August 1, 2025 (CasinoBeats, August 4, 2025). Escalante resigned as chief executive and executive chairman on July 3, 2026, with Mats Johnson as acting CEO (SBC Americas, July 6, 2026). None of this changes how a redemption is processed, but a newly private company under interim leadership, in the middle of state lawsuits, is a reason to redeem regularly rather than hold a large balance.

The library is small next to bigger rivals, at about 100-plus VGW-built slots and table games, including blackjack and roulette variants (terms as read September 13, 2026).

LuckyLand Slots: VGW's closed sister brand

VGW closed LuckyLand Slots in three announced stages: Gold Coin purchases ended August 3, 2026, gameplay ended August 24, and prize redemptions and account access closed permanently on September 14, 2026 (Gambling.com and Covers, August 2026). Balances could not be moved to other VGW products. VGW said the closure did not affect Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Casino or Global Poker (Sweepsy, August 2026). LuckyLand Casino is a separate VGW product with its own accounts, not a continuation of LuckyLand Slots. New York players who left LuckyLand Slots balances before VGW's June 2025 exit fall under the settlement above; players elsewhere who missed September 14 have no announced extension, and should contact VGW support in writing. Before closing, LuckyLand Slots gave 7,777 Gold Coins and 10 Sweeps Coins with no purchase, five times Chumba's redeemable welcome.
