Sweepstakes Casino No Deposit Bonus: What the Free Sweeps Coins Are Worth

A sweepstakes casino no deposit bonus is the coin bundle a US sweepstakes casino credits when you open an account, with no purchase. The large number is Gold Coins, which are play money. The small number is Sweeps Coins, which can be redeemed for cash or gift cards once you clear the playthrough, reach the redemption minimum, pass identity checks and play from an eligible state. On the operator terms we hold, the redeemable part runs from 2 Sweeps Coins (Chumba, RealPrize) to 25 Stake Cash (Stake.us, at 3x playthrough). The product is US-only, closed in at least nine states, and 21+ at several of the brands below.

Published October 30, 2026 — High 5 Casino's Official Rules, version 45, read on its own site October 30. The other operators' rules pages returned 403, geo-blocked us, sat behind a login or did not render on October 30, so their figures are as last read from their terms on September 13, 2026, and each row says so. We did not open accounts or claim offers.

Gold Coins are play money; Sweeps Coins are the part that counts

Every sweepstakes casino runs two currencies. The first, usually called Gold Coins, is for entertainment play only. High 5's rules put it plainly: its Game Coins "cannot be redeemed for Prizes". A welcome of 2,000,000 Gold Coins tells you how long you can spin for fun, not what you can win.

The second currency, usually called Sweeps Coins (SC), is a sweepstakes entry. When you play a game in Sweeps Coin mode, winnings are paid in more Sweeps Coins, and an eligible balance can be exchanged for a prize at a fixed rate; High 5's rules set it at one Sweeps Coin to $1.00 of prize. Sweeps Coins are not a deposit and not money you own outright. The operator's rules decide when they count as eligible, how many you need, which states can redeem and when a balance is forfeited: High 5's rules say Sweeps Coins "may be forfeited" if an account is suspended or terminated for any reason. Read the welcome offer as a small, conditional entry into a promotion, not as cash.

The model exists because a sweepstakes cannot require a purchase. High 5's rules state that "no purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win", and every operator below lists free routes to Sweeps Coins: the signup grant, a daily login grant, promotions, and a postal request known as the alternative method of entry (AMOE). Buying Gold Coin packages is optional; the Sweeps Coins that come with a package are described as a free bonus on the purchase.

No-purchase signup offers compared

Ranked by the redeemable part of the welcome, not by the Gold Coin headline. "Lowest redemption" is the smallest balance the operator lets you exchange, usually for a gift card; cash needs more (see the redemption guide).

The order follows the redeemable amount. It is not for sale, and commissions do not change it. "Visit" buttons below are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no cost to you. Crown Coins is listed for reference only and carries no link (see its note). FreeSpin, a 2025 brand, is not listed: its terms were last readable in July 2026, its exclusion list then predated several bans, and freespin.com blocked our read on October 30, 2026.

High 5's offer is the one we could read today, and its own pages disagree. Its help page "How to get free Sweeps Coins" says a new account receives 55 Sweeps Coins; its sign-up bonus page leads with 200 spins on one slot for a $9.99 purchase; its Official Rules list a daily login grant but name no signup amount; and its terms as read on September 13, 2026 gave about 5 SC, 250 Game Coins and 600 Diamonds. Until the operator settles it, treat High 5's free signup amount as unconfirmed and check the offer shown in your account.

What a free Sweeps Coin welcome is actually worth

The redeemable part is small next to the minimums, so the useful question is how likely a welcome is to reach a redemption at all. There is a hard ceiling. In any game that does not favour the player, the chance of growing a balance B into a target T before losing it is at most B divided by T. Applied to the offers above:

Two conclusions follow. First, the signup grant is a starting stake, not a prize: most of the time it is played away. Second, the realistic no-purchase route to a redemption is accumulation, through daily login grants and mail-in requests over weeks, at one brand you intend to stay with. Wow Vegas, for example, lists daily login rewards of up to 5 SC and 50,000 WOW Coins a day for its higher loyalty tiers (terms as read September 13, 2026). Buying a coin package to "unlock" a welcome turns a free promotion into gambling spend, and should be budgeted as that.

Funrize needs its own warning: if your Promotional Entries came only from free sources, its terms (as read September 13, 2026) cap redemption at $25 per account, and PE convert at 100 to the dollar, so a "3,600 PE" headline is about $36 of redeemable value, not $3,600.

Free Sweeps Coins by post: the mail-in request

Because no purchase can be required, each operator's sweepstakes rules describe a postal route to free Sweeps Coins. The details differ by brand and change between versions of the rules. High 5's version 45 is the one we could read on October 30, 2026: one handwritten request card per envelope, a one-time Mail-In Code generated in your account that expires 60 days after it is shown, and three Sweeps Coins credited per valid request. At three coins a card, reaching High 5's 50 SC non-cash minimum takes 17 valid requests and its 100 SC cash minimum takes 34, each with its own envelope and stamp, before the coins are played through. It works, slowly; the step-by-step version is in the mail-in section of our redemption guide.

Where sweepstakes casinos are closed

As of October 30, 2026, nine states ban the dual-currency model by statute: Montana, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, California, Tennessee, Indiana, Maine and Louisiana. Oklahoma's SB 1589 becomes the tenth on November 1, 2026, after the Legislature overrode the governor's veto (Senate 34-10 on May 11, House 68-19 on May 14, 2026, per the bill history on oklegislature.gov). Ten more states, including Washington, Michigan, Idaho, Nevada and Illinois, are closed or restricted through regulators or existing law. Florida has no ban statute, but its Attorney General sued Stake and VGW on August 19, 2026, seeking to bar both from the state.

Operators also run a middle tier: Chumba and Modo.us keep some states open for Gold Coin play only, where you can register and spin but nothing is redeemable. The state-by-state table, with bill numbers, effective dates and which brands left where, is in our sweepstakes casino ban tracker.

Operator notes

Each note gives what the operator's own terms said on the date shown, plus the dated public record that matters for a new account. Brands are in the same order as the table.

Stake.us: the largest welcome, with a 3x catch

250,000 Gold Coins and 25 Stake Cash with no purchase, redeemable in cryptocurrency or as gift cards from about 10 SC after a 3x playthrough (terms as read September 13, 2026). Those terms excluded 22 jurisdictions. It stops offering games in Oklahoma after October 30, 2026 while still letting players there redeem (Covers, October 15, 2026), caps Florida redemptions at $5,000 a day, and is a defendant in Florida's August 19 lawsuit. Sweepsy listed it as 21+ on May 14, 2025. Full details: Stake.us no deposit bonus.

Wow Vegas: 5 SC with no code

250,000 WOW Coins and 5 Sweeps Coins at signup, no code needed, 1x playthrough, gift cards through Prizeout from 25 SC and cash through Skrill or Trustly from 100 SC (terms as read September 13, 2026; the rules page sat behind a login on October 30). Those terms excluded 14 states: California, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Washington. The operator is MW Services Limited. We found no public Oklahoma exit notice by October 30, 2026; compliant play there has to stop on November 1 regardless. Its minimum age was not confirmed on a page we could read.

McLuck: the lowest gift-card floor

About 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins free, 1x playthrough, gift cards from 10 SC and bank cash from 75 SC (terms as read September 13, 2026). B-Two Operations runs McLuck alongside Hello Millions, Jackpota, PlayFame and SpinBlitz, and the family moves together on state exits: California in December 2025, Indiana on July 1, 2026, Maine on July 15, 2026, and Oklahoma from November 1, 2026, per its terms as quoted by Sweepsy on October 26, 2026. Sweepsy reported on June 13, 2025 that McLuck would admit only players aged 21 and over from July 17, 2025.

Pulsz: 2.3 SC and a broad map

5,000 Gold Coins and 2.3 Sweeps Coins free, 1x playthrough, gift cards from 10 SC (some 2026 documentation says 25 SC, so the in-app figure decides) and cash from 100 SC (terms as read September 13, 2026). The operator, Gibraltar-based Yellow Social Interactive, wound down California from November 17, 2025 ahead of AB 831, and its September terms excluded about 19 states, Alabama, Mississippi and West Virginia among them. We found no Oklahoma notice by October 30. Third-party reviews disagree on whether Pulsz is 18+ or 21+, and its own terms were unreadable on October 30, so check the age at signup.

RealPrize: 2 SC, and a habit of leaving early

100,000 Gold Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins free at signup, 1x playthrough, gift cards from 45 SC and cash from 100 SC to a bank or Skrill with no withdrawal fee (terms as read September 13, 2026). Larger SC figures quoted around the web describe purchase-linked promotions, not the free grant. Its operator, Blazesoft, tends to leave before a ban starts: Tennessee in November 2025, Indiana before July 1, 2026, and Delaware, where Sweeps Coin play ended August 21, 2026 and the last redemptions were accepted until September 21. No Oklahoma notice was found by October 30. Minimum age not confirmed on a readable page.

Chumba: the biggest Gold Coin number, 2 SC to redeem

2,000,000 Gold Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins with no purchase, 1x playthrough, gift cards from about 10 SC and cash from 100 SC (terms as read September 13, 2026). VGW's brand runs three tiers of states, including eight where it is Gold-Coin-only, raised its minimum age to 21 in February 2025 (Sweepsy), paid New York $8 million in a settlement announced September 9, 2026, and is defending Florida's August 19 lawsuit. High 5 Casino: readable rules, unclear welcome

The only operator whose sweepstakes rules we could read on October 30, 2026. Version 45, dated October 29, 2026, admits US residents aged 21 or older, excludes 22 states including Oklahoma, sets redemption minimums at 50 Sweeps Coins for a non-cash prize and 100 for cash, and pays three Sweeps Coins per valid mail-in request. Its signup amount is the conflict described under the table. Full details: High 5 Casino free Sweeps Coins.

Funrize: Promotional Entries at 100 to the dollar

The welcome centres on Tournament Coins, commonly up to 125,000, with a smaller bundle of Promotional Entries; PE are the redeemable currency, at about 100 PE to $1. Gift cards start at 2,500 PE ($25) and cash at 10,000 PE ($100), at 1x, and redemptions from free-only PE are capped at $25 per account (terms as read September 13, 2026). The operator, A1 Development LLC of Wyoming, switches PE play off in 15 states, Wyoming included. Sweepsy reported Funrize as 18+ on May 14, 2025. No Oklahoma notice was found by October 30.

Modo.us: a Gold-Coin-only fallback in closed states

Modo's terms (as read September 13, 2026) did not fix a standard welcome amount; they set a 50 SC redemption minimum and a 1x playthrough. ARB Interactive, its operator, stayed in California after AB 831 as a Gold-Coin-only social casino, and is doing the same in Oklahoma: it stopped selling Sweeps Coin bundles there and told players to use or redeem their coins by November 1, 2026 (Covers, October 15, 2026). ARB is defending lawsuits in California, Illinois and Tennessee; the claims are unproven. Sweepsy listed Modo as 21+ on June 13, 2025.

Crown Coins: listed, not recommended

On paper, 100,000 Crown Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins with no code, 1x playthrough and a 50 SC cash minimum (terms as read September 13, 2026). In practice, WHSV reported on August 7, 2026 that the Better Business Bureau serving Central Virginia had given the operator an F rating and a consumer alert, with close to 13,000 inquiries since April 2025, many about redemptions that were denied or stalled. The same report cites cease-and-desist orders in Maryland and Illinois and class actions in New Jersey, Utah and Ohio. We do not link to it. If you already hold a balance there, finish verification and redeem as soon as you clear 50 SC.

Playing safely

Sweepstakes casinos run real casino games with real-money purchases next to the free routes, and daily login streaks, timed coin-pack boosts and loyalty tiers are built to bring you back. Set a monthly purchase budget before you start, or decide never to buy. Sweepstakes casinos are not licensed by state gaming regulators, so state casino self-exclusion lists do not reach them; use each operator's own limits and self-exclusion tools (High 5, for example, links a play-controls page from its help centre). If gambling stops being fun, the National Council on Problem Gambling's helpline is 1-800-MY-RESET, by call or text, with online chat at ncpgambling.org (read October 30, 2026). Frequently asked questions

Is a sweepstakes casino no deposit bonus free money?

No. You pay nothing to receive it, but most of it is Gold Coins, which are play money with no cash value. Only the Sweeps Coins can become a prize, and only after the playthrough, the redemption minimum and identity checks, from an eligible state. On the terms we hold, the redeemable part is 2 to 5 Sweeps Coins at most brands and 25 Stake Cash at Stake.us.

What is the difference between Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins?

Gold Coins are for entertainment play and cannot be redeemed; High 5's rules say its Game Coins cannot be redeemed for prizes. Sweeps Coins are sweepstakes entries: winnings in Sweeps Coin mode are paid in Sweeps Coins, and an eligible balance can be exchanged for a prize, usually at 1 SC to $1, under each operator's rules.

Which sweepstakes casino gives the most free Sweeps Coins on signup?

On operator terms as read September 13, 2026, Stake.us: 250,000 Gold Coins and 25 Stake Cash with no purchase, but with a 3x playthrough, so 75 Stake Cash of play before a redemption. Wow Vegas gives 5 Sweeps Coins at 1x. High 5's help page says 55 Sweeps Coins on a new account, but its other pages contradict that, so we treat it as unconfirmed.

Can I redeem the signup Sweeps Coins straight away?

Almost never. The coins must be played through first, 1x at most brands and 3x at Stake.us, and the balance must reach the redemption minimum: about 10 to 50 Sweeps Coins for gift cards and 50 to 100 for cash. A 2 SC welcome has at most a 20% chance of growing to 10 SC and at most 2% of reaching 100 SC.

Do I have to buy anything to get Sweeps Coins?

No. Sweepstakes rules must offer a free route. The usual ones are the signup grant, a daily login grant, promotions and a mail-in request. High 5's rules, for example, pay three Sweeps Coins per valid handwritten request card. Buying Gold Coin packages is optional and is gambling spend.

How old do you have to be to play at a sweepstakes casino?

It depends on the operator. High 5's Official Rules dated October 29, 2026 require 21 or older. Sweepsy has reported Stake.us, Chumba, McLuck and Modo.us as 21+ and Funrize as 18+ (reports from 2025). For Pulsz, Wow Vegas, RealPrize and Crown Coins we could not confirm the age on a readable operator page, so check it at signup.

Are sweepstakes casinos legal in my state?

Not everywhere. As of October 30, 2026, nine states ban the model by statute, Oklahoma's ban takes effect November 1, 2026, and ten more states are closed or restricted by regulators or existing law. Each operator also excludes states of its own choosing. Check the state ban tracker and the operator's own eligibility list before you sign up.
